Thank you for visiting The River Church website!

The River Church is a nondenominational, contemporary church dedicated to reaching our community for Christ and helping believers grow to maturity in Christ. We believe God has called us to win the lost, connect them to the body of Christ, train them to be disciples of Christ, and send forth leaders who will do the same.

Meet the Pastor

Pastor Steven Crombie and his wife Joan have been on the pastoral staff of The River Church since the church was planted in 1997.

Their desire is to see many from their community come to faith in Jesus Christ and grow to maturity in Him.

In September 2001, Pastor Steve was credentialed by the FEC as lead pastor of The River. Partners in ministry, Steve and Joan together lead The River Church congregation and leadership team.

Married since 1985, the couple has one married daughter and four teenage sons. They have loved living in Faribault since they moved here in 1986.

Small Groups

We love Sunday mornings! But the real life of the church happens during the week in our small groups, also known as cell groups. These groups of 5-12 people meet on various nights for deeper discussion, prayer, and fellowship. Led by trained and caring leaders, the goal is to help people understand how to enter a deeper relationship with God, and to learn how to apply the Bible to their lives in a practical way. In our cell groups, people are known by name and guaranteed pastoral attention. Cell groups are at the heart of The River’s ministry.
