Celebrate Recovery
CR Meetings are scheduled every Thursday evening from 6:00-7:00 pm in The River Church fellowship hall.
The mission of Celebrate Recovery is to help people find freedom from their hurts, habits, and hang-ups through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The program emphasizes the importance of spiritual growth, accountability, and community support in the recovery process. It aims to provide a safe and non-judgmental environment where people can find hope and healing, and ultimately experience transformation in their lives.
Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery program that aims to help individuals overcome their hurts, habits, and hang-ups. It was founded in 1990 by John Baker, who struggled with addiction and recognized the need for a support group that would integrate biblical principles with the 12-step program. Today, Celebrate Recovery is a global ministry that has helped millions of people find hope and healing through its program.
The program is based on eight principles, known as the Eight Recovery Principles, which are rooted in the teachings of the Beatitudes. These principles include admitting powerlessness, surrendering to God, making a moral inventory, confessing wrongdoings, making amends, seeking forgiveness, and continuing to grow in faith.
Celebrate Recovery meetings typically involve praise and worship, a lesson or testimony, and small group discussions. Participants are encouraged to share their struggles, victories, and insights in a safe and confidential environment. The program is open to anyone who wants to overcome any type of addiction, including substance abuse, codependency, eating disorders, and compulsive behaviors.
